I like to focus on IMPROVING your current oral hygiene regimen...even if flossing is only a part of life when there’s a piece of food stuck!
It is of the utmost importance to me that you never feel judged while I am treating you, I’m just happy you walked in the door because it takes a strong person to be vulnerable! I am amazed every day with how close KDC becomes with our patients in such a short amount of time and I truly love hearing about everything from teeth, travel, food (yummm), family, hardships, good humor, goals...really just anything. How often do you get to put away all your outside distractions and just focus on yourself?
Outside of KDC, I enjoy food...seriously. My life’s biggest blessings are my husband and two beautiful daughters.
I don’t have a “quote” to live by, I just like to live!
Since I was 10 years old, I have wanted to be a dental hygienist. I was able to achieve my dream career in 2011 and it has been bliss ever since. KDC is not only my place of employment, but it is my home. I am forever grateful to be working everyday with the best dental team, especially within the “quiet corner” community. Here at KDC, I have the pleasure of meeting and treating such wonderful patients. I always look forward to seeing everyone at their recare appointments to not only catch up on life stories but also to provide a service that will keep them healthy for a lifetime!
When I’m not working, I am spending quality time with my wonderful husband, my 2 amazing children and my 2 dogs. I have an obsession with sports and fitness; so I can always be found either at a sporting event or the gym. I look forward in seeing you soon!

I love the dental hygiene profession and am proud to be a part of the KDC family. I graduated from Goodwin University in 2024. I like to focus on providing a safe space for all patients, providing a calm & comfortable environment. I love to educate and provide knowledge to help improve oral health and overall health, I am so passionate about what we stand for - COMPLETE HEALTH DENTISTRY! I love being part of an office that treats each patient so individually and looks at the BIG picture with a focus on PREVENTION, not just fixing one tooth at a time.
I have a strong moral and ethical standard and at KDC I have the technology, equipment, and time necessary to provide gold-standard, thorough, and effective care for all patients who walk through the door. I am excited to be part of such an amazing team, in an amazing community. I am so grateful I have found my dental home and am excited to have a long and fruitful career here.
When I am not working, I like to fish, snowboard, hike, golf, garden, paint, read, and just be active and have fun with friends and family!

I am proud to say that I have been a hygienist here at Killingly Dental Care for 15 years where cleaning teeth is actually just one piece of my multifaceted job. We are here to focus on the whole you, not JUST your teeth, we all truly believe in our vision of COMPLETE HEALTH DENTISTRY.
I am a lifelong East Killingly resident, and spend my spare time with my 21 year old twin sons and fiancé Glenn, volunteering on the East Killingly Fire Department as an EMT, and teaching yoga.

I graduated from Killingly High School in 1998 then attended Eastern Connecticut State University for 2 years and QVCTC for 2 years. I attended Teamwork Allied Health Academy in 2004 and graduated in 2005 in Dental Assisting. I live here in Dayville with my husband and three children (all of which are growing up too fast!!!) and have become very involved in our community. My kids are part of basically every sport known to man within Killingly so I have gotten to know so many families within our community. I see my friends here at work all the time and it brings me so much joy to be able to give back and provide top-notch dental care to Killingly and all surrounding towns. I have been a part of this KDC team for many years, seen us grow and evolve, keeping up with new technologies, and treating more and more patients every year. This is not my job, it's my CAREER and I, along with all my teammates, give it our ALL every day. The doctors remind us every morning why we are here: 'We are committed to complete health dentistry by focusing on patients' overall long term well-being that starts with excellent oral health.' We eat, live, and breathe by this vision. We can't wait to welcome you to our KDC family, and if you're already part of it, you know where to find us!

I have been a dental assistant for five wonderful years. I have learned and been trained in many aspects of dentistry, every one of them has bettered my ability both in the workplace and my personal life. Along my journey starting in Arizona leading me to Alaska and now here to the east coast, I have found I feel the most joy delivering the best possible dental experience to those around me.

BIG RED IS N THE BUILDING !!!
I'm very outgoing passionate, loud, humble, vibrant, and respectful. My bright red hair is as bright as my personality.
I'm honored to be a part of KDC Family. This is truly my second family. I have a combination of 25+ years of Customer Service experience and Medical experience.
I love working with people. Some may say I have the "Gift of Gab." I take my time to understand and hear what the patients have to say.
Communication/Listening is key.
I make sure whether on the phone or face to face that each patient is treated special. It takes a special person to treat people this way and I'm that person. If you are nervous, anxious, scared or just not sure --I'm that person to help you feel comfortable and help you to relax along the way. It's the Dominique magic!
In my free time I enjoy my seafood. I'm traveling, putting stamps on my passport. I'm a grandmother of 2. They keep me on my toes.
I have many quotes, I love this one the most.
Live--- Like it's your last day
Love-- Like you have never loved before
Laugh-- Until you cry so hard that your tummy hurts
Believe it or not, my dental Journey started at a very young age. I used to go to the dentist as a child to get my 6-month checkup and the occasional filling every now and then. One day I was getting work done and I happened to look up at the assistant and thought to myself, that would be a pretty cool job to do one day when I grow up. She was so nice and caring, and it seemed rewarding being able to help others. Well fast forward to now and as of today, I have been working in the Dental field for the past 19 years.
I started my career path by acquiring my medical assistant license and graduating from the high honors program in Brighton Massachusetts. Shortly after I completed my internship and started looking for a position in the medical field, my longtime friend happened to reach out to me. She informed me that her current boss was looking to hire a dental assistant and was willing to train the right person. At that point I had totally forgotten about what I had said to myself as a child that day in the dental office. It hadn’t even dawned on me until that very moment. Could this be what I was meant to do after all? I didn’t even have any dental experience at the time and had just finished a completely different schooling program. Well within a few weeks I was working chairside in Newton, MA with some of the best-known dentists in the industry. That is where I first met Dr. Allison White. Dr. White was such a breath of fresh air and I absolutely loved working with her. I thought to myself, she is going to be such an amazing boss lady one day and become a true inspiration to those who meet her. I was able to work with Dr. White for a couple of years before she went of to work with her dad, Dr. Sheffield at Killingly Dental Care. Throughout my dental career I have assisted in general and cosmetic dentistry along with a great group of periodontists, endodontists, implant specialists and prosthodontists. I have been able to work with some of the world’s most cutting-edge technologies in dentistry like digital scanners, 3D- printers and my favorite, the Cerec software and milling unit that makes crowns and bridges in one visit. I also have helped design and fabricate athletic mouthguards for Nike and pro-college football teams to help protect their teeth when on the field. From the beginning of my dental journey, I have been crossed trained in all departments of dentistry including administrative roles and patient management.
Most recently, as of January last year, Dr. White had asked me to join her and the Killingly Dental Care team. I am proudly part of the complete care mission, and I am currently working as a lead treatment coordinator. The ability to help patients understand their dental needs and goals along with what to expect chairside is extremely rewarding. I am honored to be here while Dr. White and Dr. Sheffield are still practicing together. With Dr. Sheffield retiring at the end of June and Dr. White helping lead and grow the practice her dad started back in 1985, it is truly fantastic to now call her my amazing boss lady.

The amazing KDC family has welcomed me with open arms this year after many years of costumer service and dental experience, i have enjoyed getting to know all of the wonderful families that come through our doors, and I make it my daily goal to have every patient leave with a smile on their face. A little bit about me outside of the office, I was born and raised in Minnesota and I am raising my two boys, crazy dog and lazy cat locally here in Connecticut. I am a big advocate for self love and doing things that make you happy, I love to feel the happiness radiating from the people I surround myself with. If I’m not at work you can almost always find me chasing the sunset.

As a front desk representative here at Killingly Dental Care, it is my priority that every time you enter our office, I make you feel as welcomed as possible! I have always loved helping others in any way that I possibly can, and providing great customer service to our patients and guests is important to me. I make it my goal to actively listen, answer any questions, and ease any concerns patients may have. I believe it’s essential to always have understanding and compassion when discussing concerns with patients over the phone or in person. In my free time, I love outdoor activities, spending time on my family’s boat, hanging out with friends, and reading!
“A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal” -Steve Maraboli
Working with patients has been the most rewarding part of my job! I enjoy getting to know patients and helping make them feel comfortable and as welcome as possible! I also appreciate and respect all of my team members and we continue to stay in touch after my retirement. Our team works hard, and we also know how to have fun! I will truly miss spending my days with my KDC family.
I leave you all with a sense of peace, joy, and excitement for the future.
The patients I’d have on my schedule became so much more than THAT to me over the years. I’ve had regular lunch dates, dinner dates, weddings invites, birthdays parties to attend, next generations to love and worry about, funerals, and tears and hugs shared just about every day. It will be those small things I miss as I venture out into my next chapter. I intend to have those lunch dates and dinner parties but I will not have the daily interaction and catch up on the lives of those I’ve so easily grown to love. Thank you Dr. Sheffield and Dr. White for so much more than a job. Thank you to my friends who just so happen to be my patients. If you truly know me well you know how much I have valued your time with me. I am blessed.
My Friends, with all my heart... Thank You.
In loving memory of Annette… May 30, 1978 - April 9, 2024
