DENTAL HYGIENE TEAM:
PAM - Registered Dental Hygienist
As a hygienist at KDC, cleaning teeth is just a small part of my job. In addition to giving you the most thorough cleaning, I am also screening for oral cancer, gum disease, cavities and other dental and medical issues, such as skin cancer and sleep apnea. The best part of my job is getting to know you on a personal level and making you feel at ease in the dental chair, and hopefully get you to the point where you look forward to coming to the dentist! I have had so many patients become wonderful friends over the years. I look forward to seeing you and helping you to enjoy coming to the dentist too!
I am a lifelong East Killingly resident, and spend my spare time with my twin old boys (soon to be "men"!) and my husband Glenn, volunteering on the East Killingly Fire Department as an EMT, and teaching yoga.
"Brilliant things happen in calm minds. Be calm. You're brilliant." -Mindful Moments of Headspace.com
RENE - Registered Dental Hygienist
I began my career as a Dental Hygienist in June of 2000 and all but one year has been spent with Dr. Sheffield and The Team. What I enjoy most about my job is helping and interacting with my patients on a one-on-one basis. I feel extremely lucky to have met and sustained lasting relationships with such wonderful people along the way! Volunteering and giving back gives people a sense of purpose and a fulfilling feeling that is unparalleled. I value quality time with my husband and our three children and have recently been blessed with a new granddaughter. I also love to travel, dine out, and spend time outdoors. I live by the mottos of Treat Others The Way You Would Want To Be Treated and Laughter Is The Best Medicine.
“You’re Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile” - Martin Charnin
EMILY - Registered Dental Hygienist
I like to focus on IMPROVING your current oral hygiene regimen...even if flossing is only a part of life when there’s a piece of food stuck!
It is of the utmost importance to me that you never feel judged while I am treating you, I’m just happy you walked in the door because it takes a strong person to be vulnerable! I am amazed everyday with how close KDC becomes with our patients in such a short amount of time and I truly love hearing about everything from teeth, travel, food (yummm), family, hardships, good humor, goals...really just anything. How often do you get to put away all your outside distractions and just focus on yourself?
Outside of KDC, I enjoy food...seriously. My life’s biggest blessings are my husband and two beautiful daughters.
I don’t have a “quote” to live by, I just like to live!
MEGAN - Registered Dental Hygienist
Being a dental hygienist has been a dream career of mine since I was 10 years old. I was able to jump start my dream career in 2011, and I’ve never looked back! KDC is not only my place of employment, but it’s my home. I am forever grateful to be working day in and day out with the best dental team especially within the “quiet corner” community. I have had the pleasure of meeting and treating such wonderful patients while at KDC. I look forward to seeing you at your routine care appointments to not only catch up on life stories but also to provide a service to keep you healthy for a lifetime!
When I’m not at work, I am spending quality time with my loving husband and our precious miracle, Hadlee. We have 2 awesome Golden Retrievers: Chloe & Cooper. I have an obsession for sports and love spending my summers at the racetracks cheering on the family teams. Can't wait to see you!

BRIA - Registered Dental Hygienist
I decided to become a dental hygienist because I enjoy educating others. I value helping my patients, and love making new friendships and connections along the way. I graduated from Community College of Rhode Island in 2019. Shortly after, I began working at Killingly Dental Care. It is here that I have been able to expand my knowledge of oral health in a very supportive and rewarding environment.

I graduated from Killingly High School in 1998 then attended Eastern Connecticut State University for 2 years and QVCTC for 2 years. I attended Teamwork Allied Health Academy in 2004 and graduated in 2005 in Dental Assisting. I live here in Dayville with my husband and three children (all of which are growing up too fast!!!) and have become very involved in our community. My kids are part of basically every sport known to man within Killingly so I have gotten to know so many families within our community. I see my friends here at work all the time and it brings me so much joy to be able to give back and provide top-notch dental care to Killingly and all surrounding towns. I have been a part of this KDC team for many years, seen us grow and evolve, keeping up with new technologies and treating more and more patients every year. This is not my job, it's my CAREER and I, along with all my teammates, give it our ALL every day. The doctors remind us every morning why we are here: "We are committed to complete health dentistry by focusing on patients' overall long term well-being that starts with excellent oral health." We eat, live and breathe by this vision. We can't wait to welcome you to our KDC family, and if you're already part of it, you know where to find us!

DAVID - Patient Concierge & Clinical Assistant
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I am the only person at this office from the far, far away land of… wait for it… Nebraska! I completed my undergraduate studies at Nebraska Wesleyan University with my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. I have aspirations of becoming a dentist, and the doctors at KDC have been grateful enough to allow me the opportunity to work and learn alongside their excellent team every single day. I consider myself blessed to have found such a fantastic office and team to share this experience. I am one of the newest members to the KDC family, but as the others have said this is truly a family. Every member of our team has your best interest at heart, and I witness this every single day.
My wife and I moved out to New England around 2 years ago now, and we love it. We enjoy the close proximity to the mountains, the ocean, and the rich history that this area has to offer! Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife, and our four pets (1 dog, 2 cats and… a sassy rabbit named Harper). On the weekends you’ll have a good chance finding us either hiking, at the beach, or exploring one of the many amenities that New England has to offer. Being from Nebraska, finding an ocean or mountains nearby is quite the task, unless of course you are looking for an ocean of corn. If we are not on an excursion, we enjoy completing home improvement projects, as we just purchased our first home back in May! I look forward to providing you and your family with a great experience at our office. We welcome you to our KDC family!

DOMINIQUE - Executive Patient Care Director
Some words that describe me: outgoing, passionate, loud, humble, vibrant, and respectful. My bright red hair is as bright as my personality. RED IS IN THE BUILDING!!
I'm honored to be a part of KDC family. I have a combination of 25+ years of Customer Service experience and Medical experience.
I love working with people. Some may say I have the "Gift of Gab." I take my time to understand and hear what our patients have to say. Communication/Listening is key.
I make sure whether on the phone or face to face that each patient is given my individual attention. It takes a special person to treat people this way and I'm that person. If you are nervous, anxious, scared or just not sure -- I'm that person to help you feel comfortable and help you to relax along the way.
In my free time I enjoy cooking. I love my seafood which I enjoy 3 times a week. I love going on road trips and spending time with my daughter & family. I love that I'm an empty nester but now, I'm going to be a Grandma...so much for my empty space. I'm very excited to be a Grandma!!

BRENDA - Account Manager (Retired as of 2018)
Working with patients has been the most rewarding part of my job! I enjoy getting to know patients and helping make them feel comfortable and as welcome as possible! I also appreciate and respect all of my team members and we continue to stay in touch after my retirement. Our team works hard, and we also know how to have fun! I will truly miss spending my days with my KDC family.
I leave you all with a sense of peace, joy, and excitement for the future.
ANNE - Registered Dental Hygienist (Retired as of April 2020)
It was 1987 when I answered an ad in the turnpike buyer for a dentist looking for a hygienist. I was buying a house in my home town of Plainfield after working in Boston for five years and I needed a a job. That was the beginning of my 33 year working relationship and friendship with Dr Sheffield. Back then if you went on an interview, it wasn’t the question of the office wanting you, it was do you want to work there? I did. It took a few months for our house paperwork to go through but Dr. SHEFFIELD said he would wait.
I had the luxury of adjusting my hours over the years as my children were born and the staff at that time were all having babies and building families as was Dr Sheffield and his wife. Allison ( Dr White) was only one. It was the perfect job. But.... it wasn’t JUST a job. We girls became sisters and though we are all gone from the office, we are still great friends. The patients I’d have on my schedule became so much more than THAT to me over the years. I’ve had regular lunch dates, dinner dates, weddings invites, birthdays parties to attend, next generations to love and worry about, funerals, and tears and hugs shared just about every day. It will be those small things I miss as I venture out into my next chapter. I intend to have those lunch dates and dinner parties but I will not have the daily interaction and catch up on the lives of those I’ve so easily grown to love. Dr Sheffield was the perfect boss. He trusted that we had his back and the welfare of his patients which were as much our priority as his. He values family in the office, is really funny ( I think) and a REALLY good dentist. So what’s changed?
I’ve had 3 new babies born since April 18th and another coming in October. With blessings from sweet Scotty, my plan was to reduce my working hours in January anyhow but sometimes a gift is presented in an unexpected way and the time off for quarantine gave me the opportunity to see what and where I would be needed and needing to do. Were they surprised when I told them? Not really. Maybe sad. It’s always sad when a good thing ends. Thank you Dr Sheffield and Allison for so much more than a job. Thank you to my friends who just so happen to be my patients. If You truly know me well you know how much I have valued your time with me. I am blessed.
My Friends, with all my heart ....Thank You.
