DENTAL HYGIENE TEAM:
ANNE - Registered Dental Hygienist
Anne graduated from Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene and her associates degree from Northeastern University in Boston. Anne takes Continuing Ed classes yearly. She recently worked for the NorthEast District Dept. of Health doing dental screenings in area schools. Anne grew up in Plainfield and after living and working in Boston for a number of years she came back to her hometown where she is raising her three children. She has worked for Dr. Sheffield since returning to Connecticut on 1987.
"Longevity in an office like Dr. Sheffield's has allowed me to develop relationships with our patients that can sometimes feel like family. I enjoy working with all ages and have followed families through joyous times as well as sad. You can learn something everyday from your patients if you listen to them. I think that is my favorite part of this job."
PAM - Registered Dental Hygienist
Pam attended Killingly High School and became a certified dental assistant in 1994. She worked as a dental assistant for 7 yrs. She graduated from CCRI as a dental hygienist in May of 2009 and joined Dr. Sheffield in July. Pam has lived in East Killinly all of her life. She is married and has twin boys, age 7. She is an EMT/ firefighter and EMS lieutenant with the East Killingly Fire Department. In her spare time, Pam enjoys hiking, playing with her kids and reading
RENE - Registered Dental Hygienist
Rene is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College and now she takes yearly continuing education and Child Identity Program. Rene is a contented wife and mother of three children. She has been a dental hygienist since 2000 and all but one year of that with Dr. Sheffield. What Rene enjoys most about her job is being able to connect with her patients on a one on one basis, both professionally and personally. It is one of the few positions where you get to spend an hour together every 3-6 months and catch up. She truly enjoys what she does!
EMILY - Registered Dental Hygienist
After obtaining her Dental Hygiene degree, Emily was ecstatic to join the team of Dr. Sheffield & Dr. White when an opening became available. She absolutely loves what she does and is constantly attending dental conventions and continuing education courses to further her education. Emily enjoys getting to know her patients and makes them feel comfortable and at ease. Emily is ecstatic to be a part of the team here because she is confident in the care that all the practitioners are offering the patients. Emily is a Dayville native and spends a majority of her time with her wonderful family.
MEGAN - Registered Dental Hygienist
Megan graduate from Montville High School in 2006. She then attended Tunxis Community College, where she earned her Associates Degree in Science & Dental Hygiene in 2011. Megan takes Continuing Education courses yearly. What Megan loves most about her job is being able to meet new people, connect with them & later turn them into lifelong friendships. Making her patients’ comfortable & happy is what Megan strives for during each appointment.
When Megan is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Kenny & their Golden Retriever, Chloe. She enjoys auto racing & playing most sports; she is a fitness nut so you will most likely see her at the local gym. Also, like most people, she loves surrounding herself with family & friends.
MELISSA - Certified Dental Assistant
Melissa graduated Killingly High School in 1998. She then attended Eastern Connecticut State University for 2 yrs. and QVCTC for 2 yrs. Melissa attended Teamwork Allied Health Academy in 2004 and graduated in 2005 in Dental Assisting. She worked for three and 1/2 yrs in East Lyme before coming to work for Dr. Sheffield in 2008. Melissa resides in Dayville with her husband and three children. Melissa is so friendly and fun, our patients and staff love her!
JESSICA - Certified Dental Assistant
Jessica graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Porter & Chester. She loves her job because she loves helping her small town & community in all ways possible. Jessica loves working with new technologies within the Killingly Dental Care office. Her hobbies include being her sons out in the warm, beautiful weather & grilling.
ERICA - Certified Dental Assistant
Erica graduated from Quabbin Regional High School in 2006; she then went onto graduate from Quinsigamond Community College in 2008 from the Dental Assisting Program & again in 2010 with her Associates Degree in General Studies. From there, she continued her education at Worcester State University, where she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Health Education.
Erica loves her job because she enjoys working with people of her community. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, Shawn & their dog, Harlie. She enjoys golfing, camping & playing softball, 4-wheeling, riding her motorcycle & traveling.
HEATHER - Certified Dental Assistant
Heather is a graduate of the Windham Tech Dental Assisting Program. She has been working in eastern CT for over 10 years. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, hiking, kayaking & traveling. She is happy to be part of the Killingly Dental Care team!
GAIL & BRENDA - Patient and Financial Coordinators
"Working with patients is the most rewarding part of my job! I enjoy getting to know patients and helping make them feel comfortable and as welcome as possible! I also appreciate and respect all of my team members and we always have a great time together. We love seeing new patients and strive to make every visit wonderful! Our team works hard, but we also know how to have fun!"
As patient coordinators, Gail and Brenda answer patient phone calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance information. As insurance coordinators, they follow up on all outstanding insurance claims. They are the warm friendly faces that answer your phone calls and greet you when you walk into our office!
